What do ATMs, hotdogs, remote controls, toilet paper and credit cards all have in common?
They’re all modern conveniences invented in New York City.
And you know what else was invented in New York City? Yours truly, Oscar. That’s right, we got our start in the city that never sleeps, where there’s a bodega practically on every corner, and just about any kind of food can be delivered to your door. So you could say we were born into convenience. And also that we understand why it’s great.
Sure, but what do hotdogs have to do with health care?
Well, convenience, for one. And in New York, we’re partnering with Capsule, another New York raised company, to make prescriptions almost as easy as possible. Now our New York members will be able to go online and with one click they’ll not only be able to refill a prescription but Capsule will deliver it for free. They’re saving that copay and a bunch of time. The only thing missing are the trashy magazines in the waiting room.
We’re excited about what we’ll learn from the work in New York. The way we see it, convenience is critical for health care. The more convenient care is, the more likely it is that members will take advantage. And this means healthier, happier members who have more time for important things. Which is great.
