At Oscar, we’ve always believed that health insurance shouldn’t just be something you think about when you’re sick. It should be a tool that works for you every day.

That’s why we created Oscar Unlocks.¹ And for 2027, we’re introducing a simpler way to earn rewards for healthy actions and put them to work. Members receive an Oscar pre-paid debit card to use points or they can use their points towards their monthly premium. Members also get access to a discount marketplace with savings on everyday essentials like gym memberships, eye exams, and more.

Starting January 1, 2027, Oscar Unlocks will be available in the Oscar account, giving you one place to explore eligible rewards, track your points, and choose how to redeem them. No separate program activation required.

How do you earn Oscar Unlocks rewards?

You earn points by completing eligible health, prescription, and digital activities. Available rewards depend on your plan, state, and individual eligibility.

Here are a few examples:

Health assessments: Eligible members can earn points for completing a qualifying virtual or in-person health assessment.
Prescription refills: Switching an eligible maintenance medication from a 30-day to a 90-day supply can earn points – and mean fewer refills to keep track of.
Preventive care: Members on certain plans can earn points for completing an annual wellness exam.
Other qualifying care: Some plans offer rewards for activities such as women’s health screenings or a pulmonary function test.

Check Oscar Unlocks for the activities available to you and what you need to complete. Once Oscar verifies an eligible activity, your points become available.

A rewarding way to get started

Eligible new members and renewing members who don’t already have an Oscar digital account can earn onboarding points by completing all required setup activities:

Create an Oscar online account, here.
Download the Oscar app and sign in.
Opt into paperless billing and autopay.
Opt into SMS communications.
Complete a health risk assessment.

Everyday savings

Oscar Unlocks also gives members access to everyday offers, including savings at retailers and gyms. These perks don’t require completing a healthy action first. You can explore available discounts while earning points for eligible activities.

A few things to know:

Who can participate? Active Individual and Family Plan (IFP) and CHOICE (formerly ICHRA) members aged 18 and older, including eligible spouses and dependents.
Do points roll over? Points roll over from year to year while you remain on an Oscar plan. Rewards and unused card funds are forfeited when you disenroll, subject to applicable terms.

Participation in the Oscar Rewards Program is available to eligible active IFP and CHOICE Arrangements (previously known as ICHRA) members, including subscribers, spouses, and covered dependents age 18 and older. Participation does not guarantee eligibility for every reward. Eligibility for a particular reward depends on the reward’s stated criteria and may vary by product, plan, state, qualifying condition or medication, and completion of the required activity. The maximum value of rewards a member or dependent may earn varies by state and is subject to the applicable policy and any lower or different state-specific limit.
