"Hi everyone! This is Dr. Stephanie Camaglia Reznick. I'm a board certified internist and one of the medical directors for virtual care here at Oscar.
In today's segment, I'd like to discuss what else — Halloween. Halloween is always a fun holiday but this year, it's going to be a little challenging than most and not just because of the full moon that we're expecting on the 31st.
The CDC has put out tips on how we can safely celebrate Halloween (opens in new tab) during the pandemic and I'd like to go through some of those tips now.
For those who are going out trick-or-treating, don't forget that, even though you're outside, you should stay six feet away from others not in your household.
You should also be wearing a cloth mask. The Halloween ones, unfortunately, don't count. Wearing a cloth mask underneath the Halloween mask can make it really hard to breathe so this isn't recommended.
I’ve seen some creative ways to get around this such as decorating the cloth face mask with skeletons or jack-o-lanterns or other Halloween patterns so have fun with it!
