Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Care with Oscar Health- I searched for my doctor and I didn't get any results. What does this mean?
If a specific doctor does not show up in our search results, they’re likely out-of-network.
You can find other great in-network options by searching for the doctor’s specialty (for example, ‘dermatologist’), or by searching for what you need help with (for example, ‘skin condition’).
- What is the difference between Oscar Primary Care and Virtual Urgent Care?
Oscar Primary Care is great for annual wellness visits, chronic disease management, preventive care and for forming a relationship with a provider who can help you manage your health long term.
Virtual Urgent Care is great for when you need help quickly with non-emergencies. It's great for most last minute prescription refills and for acute issues like pink-eye, skin issues, and bruises, the flu, sore throats, and more.
- Are mental health services in-network?
In-network mental health services are available to you through Optum Behavioral Health. Covered services include talk therapy, substance abuse services, psychiatry, and autism care.
- How do I know if I need a referral to see a specialist?
You only need a referral to visit a specialist if you’re enrolled in a TX Guided Care HMO plan. If you’re on any other plan, you can schedule a specialist visit directly.
- How can I see if my prescription drugs are covered?
- Check out our Drug Formularies, to learn more about the medications our plan covers including maximum dosage and quantity. Prior-authorization requirements are also outlined.
